Most Premium Tequilas emerge from ruthless opportunism. They see a gap in the market, cobble together a sub-par spirit with a low-quality taste and get a familiar face to endorse it. We believe in taking a stand against style over substance. To be the enemy of this reality.
For us, choosing Enemigo means deserving a memorable drinking experience. To really appreciate the smoothness and complexity of flavor, it needs to be sipped. So, what better way to do that than from the purest symbol of elegance and celebration?
Our Tequilas are made from 100% of the finest Blue Weber Agave. The agaves selected are grown for 7-12 years to ensure they meet Enemigo’s quality standards. Volcanic mineral rich soil creates a herbaceous, vegetal profile that lends complexity as compared to highland agave that is grown in red clay and produces a sweeter, often fruity flavor profile.
All water used in Enemigo’s production process is filtered through the mineral rich soil of the Volcán de Tequila, which last erupted 200,000 years ago. This mineral rich filtration adds a further fresh minerality to Enemigo’s flavor profile, creating a more delicate liquid.
Traditionally, Tequila is aged in re-used, Bourbon barrels. Enemigo uses custom, handmade, new American Oak Barrels, creating it’s unique flavor profile and position in the market. Enemigo’s barrels are hand-crafted by coopers with more than 30 years of experience from selected Quercus alba oak that is air dried and then seasoned in Cuba, Missouri for at least 26 months.
